Why DesigNA gives well
A name necklace can be copied. A birthstone necklace can be matched. A DesigNA piece cannot. It is designed from the recipient’s own DNA, certified, and made for one wearer.
The gesture is collaborative rather than imposed. You give the kit. They send the sample. The finished necklace arrives weeks later as a finished moment.
Best occasions
- Anniversaries. Especially milestone years (10, 25, 40). Pair a gold piece with a written letter.
- Milestone birthdays. 18, 21, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70. The certificate dates the moment.
- The birth of a child. A piece for the mother that carries the child’s DNA, or one each.
- Graduations and qualifications. A quiet recognition that endures.
- After recovery. Marking the version of someone who came through.
How gifting works
The honest path: because the necklace is generated from your recipient’s own DNA, you cannot complete the order in full secrecy. The gift is the kit. The reveal is the finished necklace, weeks later.
Option 1: gift the kit
Order the kit to your address. Present it in our signature packaging on the day. Help your recipient take the swab. Post it back together. The finished necklace arrives in 7 to 14 working days from receipt of your sample at the lab and becomes the second half of the gift.
Option 2: gift to their address
Order to their address with a personal note enclosed. The kit arrives in our packaging with the note inside. Some customers like the surprise of the kit landing unexpectedly.
Option 3: occasion specific timing
If you have a fixed date in mind, contact us before ordering. We will tell you honestly whether the timeline is realistic and, when it is, we will route your order to land on the right day.
Gift messaging
Add a handwritten style note at checkout, up to 200 characters. The note is printed on heavy card and sits inside the inner jewellery box, next to the necklace itself.
Risk reversal
If you change your mind at any point before production begins, we refund in full. No questions, no admin. Once the sample is processed and the piece is in production, the laboratory and craft costs cannot be refunded, but we will always do what is fair if circumstances change.
