The Most Personal Gift You’ll Ever Give: A DNA Jewellery Gift Guide
Share

There’s a particular kind of gift-giving despair that sets in around October. You know the person well. You know what they like. You’ve given them the candles, the experience days, the cashmere. You’re out of ideas, and they, frankly, seem to have everything.
DesigNA exists for exactly this moment.
Why DNA Jewellery Is Different
“Personalised” has been so thoroughly devalued as a word that it’s almost meaningless. A mug with someone’s name on it is personalised. A keyring with a birthstone is personalised. These are thoughtful gestures, but they’re not truly individual, the same mug could belong to anyone named Sarah.
A DesigNA necklace is different in a fundamental way. It’s created from the recipient’s actual DNA, their unique genetic profile, translated through advanced STR analysis into a specific arrangement of semi-precious stones. The necklace couldn’t belong to anyone else. It literally couldn’t exist without them.
The Gift Guide: Who Is a DesigNA Piece For?
For a Partner, Anniversary or Birthday
A DesigNA necklace is one of the most intimate gifts you can give to someone you love. You’re commissioning a piece derived from the very biology that makes them who they are. It says: *I see you, not just who you are, but what you’re made of.* For milestone anniversaries, first, fifth, tenth, it carries a weight that jewellery with a price tag alone simply can’t.
For a New Mother
The birth of a child is one of the most profound events in a person’s life. A necklace derived from the baby’s DNA, or from both mother and child, marks that moment in a way that a card or flower arrangement cannot. It’s a keepsake that will still be meaningful in 30 years.
For a Parent or Grandparent
Think about what it means to give a parent a piece of jewellery made from their child’s DNA, or a grandparent a necklace encoding the genetic signature of a grandchild. It’s a legacy piece: something that holds meaning beyond aesthetics and lasts beyond the moment of giving.
For Someone Who Has Lost a Loved One
If a DNA sample exists, from a previous DNA test, ancestry kit, or medical record, a DesigNA piece can be created in memory of someone who has passed. It’s a profoundly personal way to carry someone with you. Please contact us to discuss this option.
For the Person Who Genuinely Has Everything
They have a wardrobe full of clothes, a home full of objects, and opinions about all of it. What they don’t have, what no one has, because it’s impossible to have it before now, is a piece of jewellery made from their own genetic code. It’s the gift that cannot be duplicated, re-gifted, or found on the high street.
How to Gift a DesigNA Piece
Gifting a DesigNA necklace is straightforward. When you place your order, you’ll receive a DNA collection kit, a simple at-home cheek swab that takes about two minutes. You can either handle the logistics yourself (swab the recipient and return the kit) or contact us about gift options where the kit is presented directly to the recipient as part of the gift experience.
Once the sample is received at our laboratory, allow 2 to 3 weeks from receipt of your sample at the lab for the necklace to be crafted and delivered. We recommend ordering well in advance of your gifting occasion.
A Note on Price
Both our Silver and Pearl DNA Profile Necklaces are priced at £299. For a piece that is scientifically unique, involves laboratory analysis, professional genetic profiling, and handcrafted production, this represents exceptional value. It is not a mass-produced item. It is, by definition, a 1/1.
Browse the DesigNA collection and find the right piece for your recipient.
