Which necklace should I choose?

Silver at £249 is the piece most people start with. Pearl at £275 is the one we would suggest first for an anniversary. Gold at £699 is 9ct hallmarked gold batons for the occasions that call for it. The pattern designs mark your positions in polished gold spheres with no stones at all.

What chain length do you offer?

Three base lengths, 16, 18 and 20 inches, and every necklace includes a 2 inch extender chain, so each size adjusts from 16 to 18, 18 to 20, or 20 to 22 inches to sit exactly where you like.

How long until my necklace arrives?

Your finished piece is delivered within 2 to 3 weeks of the laboratory receiving your sample, with free UK tracked delivery. The kit reaches you in 2 to 3 working days, so a prompt swab means about three to four weeks in all.

Is each necklace genuinely one of a kind?

Yes. The design is generated from your allele profile across 23 markers, a combination written nowhere else on earth, and your numbered certificate records the data behind it. The only exception is an identical twin.

Can two people share one piece?

Not currently. Each piece is made from one person's DNA. For a couple, one swab each makes two visibly different pieces, and the second piece on an order is half price at checkout.

Can I spread the cost?

Yes. We accept all major cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, plus Klarna for instalments. Every order also has a 14 day cooling off period, which ends once your sample reaches the laboratory.

DesigNA jewellery carries no engraving at all. The personalisation is the pattern itself: the sequence of stones and spacers is set by the wearer's genetic profile, so nothing is written on the piece and nothing can be copied by reading it. If you want something personal that does not spell out a name, date or initial, this is the alternative.

What are the best DNA gifts in the UK?

Can I buy a DNA necklace as a surprise?

You can surprise someone with the kit, not with the swab. An adult's DNA is analysed only with their own consent, so the swab has to be taken by the person wearing the piece. Most people give the kit as the visible gift, open it together, and the finished piece arrives a few weeks later as the second half.

How far ahead do I need to order for a birthday or Christmas?

Two parts are fixed: 2 to 3 working days for the kit to reach you, then 2 to 3 weeks of making from the day the laboratory has the swab. In between is however long the swab takes to come back, so swab early and it is usually about three to four weeks in all. For Christmas 2026 the order by date is Sunday 15 November. After that, give the kit on the day and let the piece follow.
