The gift
The DesigNA gift
Gifting DesigNA is simple: you buy the piece, we post the kit, they take their own swab, and a few weeks later something that could only ever be theirs arrives.
- Gift the kit, they swab
- Certificate with every piece
- 14 day cooling off
A DesigNA piece is made from the DNA of the person who will wear it, so it is a gift that could only ever belong to them. This page covers how gifting works, which occasions it suits, and the questions people ask before they order.
Giving DesigNA as a gift
1. The kit arrives gift boxed. Unwrap it together. The kit inside the box is the gift moment.
2. They swab at home. A thirty second cheek swab. No needles, no fuss. Post it back in the prepaid envelope.
3. Their piece follows. Made in two to three weeks from the day the sample reaches the laboratory, certified and one of one.
Give it Christmas morning. The gift box with the kit inside is the moment they unwrap. Their finished piece follows, certified and one of one. Allow four to five weeks from order to finished piece if you are working to a date.
Sizing is never a worry. Every necklace includes a 2 inch extender and every bracelet adjusts on the wrist, so the piece fits first time.
The most meaningful personalised jewellery for a partner
The most meaningful personalised jewellery you can give a partner is a piece made from their own DNA. Engraving, initials and birthstones describe a person from the outside. A DesigNA piece is built from the code that makes them who they are, read from a cheek swab and set as a sequence of stones and spacers that no one else could produce. The Silver DNA Profile Necklace is £299 and arrives with a signed certificate showing the profile it was made from. For a couple, one swab each makes two pieces that are visibly different from one another, which is the point.
Unique anniversary jewellery gifts for her
An anniversary gift should mark the person, not the year. A DesigNA anniversary piece is made from her DNA, so it could not be made for anyone else and it will read the same in fifty years as it does today. The Pearl DNA Profile Necklace at £299 is the piece we would suggest first, and the bracelet range from £199 suits a smaller gesture or a matching pair. There is more on timing and presentation on our anniversary gift page.
Personalised jewellery that is not engraved
If you want personalised jewellery without engraving, DesigNA is personal at the level of the design itself. Nothing is written on the piece. The pattern of coloured markers and metal spacers is the personalisation, decided by the wearer’s genetic profile, and it cannot be copied by reading it. It is the alternative for someone who finds a name, a date or an initial on a pendant too literal. We compare the two approaches in DNA necklace or engraved necklace.
One of a kind jewellery gifts in the UK
Every DesigNA piece is one of a kind by construction rather than by limited edition. It is generated from a single person’s DNA, hand made in the UK, and certified against the profile it came from, so two pieces are never the same. The full range runs from necklaces at £299 in silver or pearl to bracelets from £199. If you want something to hand over on the day with no swab involved, the DNA Representation Pendant at £80 is a ready to wear piece that represents the idea rather than a personal profile. For milestone birthdays, see the birthday gift page.

Common questions
Is DNA jewellery a good anniversary or wedding gift?
Yes, it is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give. Each piece is one of one, generated from the recipient’s own DNA and hand made in the UK. It suits anniversaries, weddings and milestone birthdays.
Can I buy it as a surprise gift?
Yes. The collection kit is posted out, and whoever is receiving the piece provides the cheek swab. The finished piece is then made from their DNA.
Is it actually made from their DNA?
The design is. The laboratory reads identity markers from the swab and those markers set the order of every stone and spacer. The sample itself is destroyed after profiling, so the piece carries the pattern of their DNA, not the DNA.
Will it fit?
Yes. Every necklace includes a 2 inch extender and every bracelet adjusts, either with a slider or a lobster clasp and extension chain, so the piece fits first time.

The reveal
Two moments, not one
A DesigNA gift unwraps twice. First the box, the sleeve and the certificate. Then, weeks later, the piece itself, made from their own profile. Most gifts are opened once and remembered sometimes. This one gets talked about.
For someone unrepeatable
