DNA Representation Pendant

Every DNA profile begins as colour. To read the code, a laboratory tags each marker with a fluorescent dye, and the profile comes back as a trace in blue, green, yellow and red. Colour is what makes the reading possible at all.

This pendant borrows those colours. Six oval zircon stones sit prong set in a circular gold plated setting, hung on a matching cable chain and finished with the DesigNA tag.

What it is, and what it is not

This is a fixed design. Every DNA Representation Pendant is the same, and the stones are purely decorative. They hold no information about you. No sample, no swab and no laboratory work sits behind this piece, and that is exactly why it costs what it does.

We would rather say that plainly than let you assume otherwise.

Where the colours come from

In the Identifiler kit, one of the most widely used in identity testing, the green channel carries TH01, the best known marker in the whole field. Red carries Amelogenin, the marker that shows biological sex. Blue carries CSF1PO, one of the thirteen core markers used for database entry. Different kits assign the colours differently, so take this as the idea behind the piece rather than a fixed rule.
